Waka Kotahi have supplied the following information about the Main Street road works taking place this week…

Crossing outside the Foodcourt.

Crossing outside The Hog and Hounds.

Between 5pm – 7am Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the crews will have Stop/Go traffic management in place. Traffic delays will be approximately 5 minutes however both directions will be open.

Daytime work with safety traffic management in place will also continue. Including the night work will assist with an early completion date.

Please note that Night work has been programmed for Sunday 22 to Wednesday 25 (inclusive) November

Daytime work with safety traffic management in place will also continue. Including the night work will assist with an early completion date.

We are sharing information about this detour with freight, stakeholders, Council and motorists using various channels. We know this might be a challenge for local businesses so we will be promoting the town as open for business through radio, online and media. Introducing the one day closure will allow the crews to have safe access on site allowing them to complete the project one week earlier than scheduled.

Please note that a Road closure with detour is planned for Thursday 3 December, 7am – 5pm

We’re planning a full road closure and detour as a backup on this date. It will allow the crews to get on site to finish their work, tidy up the work site on Friday 4 December and move out!

Crossing outside Countdown.
