Yesterday a notification came through regarding proposed pedestrian improvements in the Tirau Street shopping area in Putaruru. The previously posted plan is shown at the end of this post.
“One thing that came through strongly from your feedback is that the community is not in favour of a truck parking bay in the proposed location outside the food court. We’ve taken that on board and we’re no longer proposing a truck parking bay in this location,” said Adrian Bathgate, Advisor, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.
“However there was support for having a truck parking bay in Putaruru so we’ll look at the options, including the suggestions provided to us, and talk to South Waikato District Council before coming back with another proposal,” Bathgate continued.
“This process could take several weeks during which time we’ll continue to look at your feedback and consider the other parts of the proposed improvements; the pedestrian and parking upgrades.” he added.
